If you’re open to it, travel can do weird things to you.

It slaps you with epiphanies, not just applicable to life on the road but life in general. It flips you upside down, turns you inside out and makes you a different human to the one first thought seeing a bit of the world might be quite nice.

14 places lived in 2022, 14 different lessons learned. Lessons that are applicable to everyone, traveler, homebody or anything in between.

Just because everyone else likes something doesn’t automatically mean you will

Me and Istanbul didn’t jive and it was wholly unexpected.

On paper, the city sounded right up my street. I’d never heard a bad word against it from any of my traveling friends.

But there are times when you just don’t feel what everyone else does, be it about a place, a person, an experience, a way of life.
